It has been a while since I have posted here. I had pretty much given up hope on obtaining any relief for the wages owed me, a sum close to $6,000. There is one gentleman who has refused to give up hope and the fruit of his work has been to obtain a law firm willing to represent us in court to obtain our money that we earned trying to help at-risk children. We met with her and her law partner last night and agreed to representation. It will not be a battle quickly won. But if we can get as many former employees on board for representation, then whatever expenses that have to be covered can be shared jointly. The more that can share this burden the less the burden will be for any one individual! This incidental costs are for the hiring of forensic accountants, private investigator, copying costs, filing fees and the such. The lawyers will not be paid unless the suit is won. This is standard practice.
If you are reading this, please know there is relief for you ahead if you are a former employee. Contact me at my email, padreallenp@aol.com and I will send you details in contacting the law firm that has been retained.

Changes to The Bridges Center Website
I thought I would see if there had been any changes to the The Bridges Center website since I last checked. And sure enough the staff page is completely gone. The 4 or 5 people who had been on there are no where to be found. On the services page is this notice "We will provide you with a list of 3-5 providers with whom you will be able to acquire the care you need."
I do not know if this means in-house providers or they will refer you to another agency.
If you have any information, please share in the comment box.

An Update, Sorry No Good News!
It's been awhile since I posted and I thought some progress was being made towards settling my back wages. But just recently, a person who found me through this blog called asking if she should continue to work there. She just was hired and realized the training was non-existent. A co-worker quit already because when she got her case load, she heard nothing but complaints from clients who have not been seen for months.
I share her email here

Hello Mr. Allen,
I was recently hired by The Bridges Center as a counselor. From the first day of "training," I was distrubed by the lack of training or preparation to provide counseling services to client who so desperately need the services.
After two days of training, my co work quit because she says it doesn't feel right. I then begin to start searching the internet to see what I could locate in regards to the company. I came across your letter to CARF. Needless to say, I am blown away with all the RECENT complaints against the company. Nothing positive is being shared about the company. I wanted to know if you ever received your payment for the services your provided? I don't want to waste my time and my family's money seeing patients if I am not going to be compensated. I haven't worked in nearly 3 years and our money is tight and I can't afford to burn our savings for a dead end job.
If you get this e-mail, PLEASE, PLEASE respond.

I have entered into a settlement agreement with the REORG GROUP. Here is there latest correspondence with me:
Allen,
Attached is the formal plan for the restructuring of the liabilities of the Bridges Center. We are addressing a delinquent payable comprised of thirty-three (33) individual claims totaling an estimated $258,142.05. Additionally, the IRS has been garnishing Bridges operating account seeking to satisfy a debt in excess of $800,000.00. As you can imagine, these garnishments threaten the very existence of Bridges.
Please review the multi-offer proposal. Let me know if you would like additional information to assist you in the decision making process or if you would just like to discuss the matter in greater detail. Our office will close early today and be closed in observance of the New Year’s holiday on Monday, January 2nd.

Re: The Bridges Center, Norcross, GA
To whom it may concern:
I am writing to report severe ethical violations that impede the delivery of services by the Bridges Center, 5950 Live Oak Pkwy, Suite 130, Norcross, GA 30093. Currently The Bridges Center (TBC) is accredited by CARF and that accreditation needs to be revoked.
I was employed by TBC July of 2011. After 6 weeks of work billing Medicaid for my services, I was never paid. When I inquire into the status I am threatened by the owner, Elana Winfrey, with innuendos of litigation. She has a history of hiring people and not paying them. Documentation is attached. All this results in lack of services to the clients referred to The Bridges Center.
When I began work and received my caseload, 100% of my clients complained they had not been seen since their assessment which may have been six months ago or I was the third counselor in as many weeks. I did my best to repair the therapeutic relationship only to use up my savings in gas and expenses.
The Welligent system was even down for a period of time due to non-payment of bills.
Currently clients are still being referred by the schools yet they have no clinicians to see them. They have hired new clinicians while not paying those previously hired. They are currently under investigation by the Georgia State Attorney General’s Office Medicaid Fraud Unit.
I am asking CARF to review their accreditation of TBC and revoke it so families are not promised something that will never be delivered and that potential employees won’t spend their savings providing services without reimbursement.
I am available for an interview or if you desire more information please call me on my cell, xxx-xxx-xxxx, or email me at padreallenp@aol.com.
Sincerely,
Allen Peyton
